Keller Schroeder has been growing, and we are continuing to expand our operations. If you are a proven performer, we would like you to take a closer look at working with us. We are seeking a Purchasing Agent to join our team in Evansville, IN.  This position will communicate with clients and partners, both internal and external, to understand their needs, provide support to the Account Managers, and provide a positive customer experience.  Keller Schroeder is unable to provide sponsorship at this time.


  • Work directly with vendors to obtain quotes for products
  • Support the Account Managers by preparing quotes, placing orders, and providing shipping status updates to clients/account managers for vendor partners including Cisco and HPE
  • Purchasing duties including creating purchase orders (POs) and working directly with distribution partners
  • Utilize CRM to keep status updated and set follow up activities
  • Verify invoices from vendors and route invoice to accounting team
  • Become a SME for the assigned vendor set, in terms of models, new promotions, and pricing updates
  • As related to the vendor set, update the sales team and engineering team on critical timing issues (i.e. year-end pricing, or known upcoming price increases, etc.)
  • Process returns, when applicable
  • Proactively establish and maintain effective working relationships with all support and sales teams, as well as client base accounts
  • Act as primary backup for team members, as required
  • Phone duty backup role as required
  • Associate Degree or equivalent experience in business related field
  • Ability to multi-task while meeting deadlines
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end sales process and importance of inside sales contribution
  • Ability to work well as part of a team, as well as independently
  • Previous Experience on CRM software, such as ConnectWise preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail while working in fast-paced environment
  • Display high levels of professionalism & leadership skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work independently
  • Excellent computer and phone skills
