We are seeking a Director of IT to work for our direct client.  This is a direct hire, full time, onsite opportunity in Evansville, IN.  This is for an IT shop consisting of 5 employees. This individual will be responsible for strategic planning, organizing, and execution of a global business. Includes directing IT operations to meet internal and external customer requirements along with support and maintenance of existing applications and development of new technical solutions.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Direct the development and management of Information Technology activities.
  • Procurement and implementation of: Hardware, Software, Networks, WAN/LAN, VPN, Internet, Intranet and Telecommunications.
  • Develop and maintain effective Information Technology management systems including Intranet and Internet systems.
  • Direct the evaluation, development, and activities of Information Technology staff.
  • Responsible for interface with global locations to coordinate global IT activities.
  • Responsible for establishing and achieving annual Information Technology goals consistent with corporate strategic goals.
  • Develop and manage the annual Information Technology budget incorporating all global locations.
  • Establish IT Policies and Procedures providing for adequate protection of corporate technology assets.

 

  • Degree in Computer Science or business-related field.
  • 7+ years IT leadership/management experience—ideal for someone wanting to move up to Director level position.
  • Global IT experience.
  • Strong project management.
  • Experience establishing policies and procedures.
  • Experience managing staff with diverse skillsets.
  • Advanced working relationship skills to effectively guide and support management team colleagues.
  • Demonstrated ability to bring the benefits of IT to solve business issues while also managing costs and risk.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply sound judgment to diverse business and employment problems.
  • Skills in management, leadership, and motivating others.
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills.
  • Advanced computer skills with an emphasis on Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge or exposure to manufacturing, budgeting, internet, intranet, WAN/LAN, VPN, EDI
  • Antivirus and telecommunication systems experience.
  • Knowledge or exposure to programming languages such as RPG IV, ILE, HTML, and JAVA
  • Hardware experience including servers and midrange computer--AS400 preferred.
