Rob Wilson, Business Unit Director – Microsoft Applications at Keller Schroeder, was recently selected as a Community Champion by INETA for his contributions to the SharePoint User Group in Evansville and to other communities in our region. INETA is a non-profit, independent organization, chartered with supporting all user groups interested in the Microsoft .NET platform. Keller Schroeder has been a long-time supporter of technology user groups – including coordinating, hosting, sponsoring and speaking.
Keller Schroeder’s annual Client Appreciation Event was once again a dual success – an opportunity to say thank you to our clients, and an opportunity to make a positive impact on our community. This year’s event (held on October 2nd) sported a Hawaiian theme and included good music, abundant food, and great conversation between Keller Schroeder employee-owners and over 250 client attendees.
Attendees were asked to join Keller Schroeder in bringing food items that could be donated to the Tri-State Food Bank for the event. In all, over 2000 dry food and produce items were collected and donated by Keller Schroeder employee-owners and clients. In addition, Keller Schroeder partnered with Marx Barbeque to donate 500 lbs of fresh meat to the Food Bank.
Keller Schroeder’s strong relationships with key vendors were on display, as the event was supported and attended by Cisco, NetApp, LifeSize Video, and IronPort.
Keller Schroeder President Larry May has been elected to the Board of Directors for the United Way of Southwestern Indiana. “As a fan of United Way for many years, I consider it an honor to have the opportunity to serve the organization as a Board member,” May said. He pointed out that the employee-owners of Keller Schroeder have been strong and consistent supporters of the United Way, and that, “We will look at this appointment as another way to be a helpful resource to an organization that has a huge impact on our community.”
The Keller Schroeder Technology Scholarship was today awarded to Devin S. Burke at the USI College of Business Honors Convocation. Our annual $1,000 scholarship goes to a sophomore or junior CIS/CS major with strong academic performance who shows involvement in University, student or professional organizations, and community service or serving-learning activities.
The 2008 Spirit of United Way Award, the most prestigious award offered by the United Way of Southwestern Indiana (UWSWI) each year, was presented to Keller Schroeder at the UWSWI Annual Meeting today. United Way typically honors one individual and one corporate partner each year with the Spirit Award. Recipients personify the attributes of United Way — caring, inspiring, innovative, approachable, trustworthy, dynamic, and results oriented.
Keller Schroeder’s annual Client Appreciation Event was also a birthday celebration this year, marking the firm’s 30 years of service to Evansville and tri-state area businesses with a special United Way emphasis as a way of giving back to the community.
Keller Schroeder invited the employees of its 300-plus clients to an annual cookout, which included food, fellowship, giveaways, and an opportunity to meet and learn from some of the firm’s software and hardware partner companies. At this year’s event, held on October 3rd, Keller Schroeder’s clients were offered an extra incentive to attend. In celebration of its 30 years in business, Keller Schroeder donated $30 to United Way of Southwestern Indiana for each of the 341 registered attendees, resulting in a total gift of over $10,000.
